Cool Products

Kalwall is an interesting walling system that lets light through the building whilst maintaining a very high U-Value of 0.28. To put this in perspective modern building regulations only require 0.35 (approximately due to the new building thermal modelling that is required) and an un-insulated brick wall is about 2.2!

It also come back as being far too expensive whenever I have proposed it in the past. That is a long time ago as I haven't personally been in a position to propose anything for over 4yrs.....

Here's hoping! It would be amazing to try and specify this on a school.

Dezeen top ten Japanese Projects shows some very beautiful buildings and products. I especially liked the library and the match - other projects have been mentioned before on the site.

Shiny Shiny have some cool gadgets for girls but this is definitely a man only gadget! Uber tiny robots that are automated and can patrol your desk! Wicked. They are a reasonably priced £22 too! :-D Here is the Toyology article.

Bubble Wrap Calander is cool but I sort of think you could recreate yourself with a bit of inginuity and bubblewrap. The finish looks rather amateur even though the concept is very cool. []

Bubble wrap calendar... mine would have everything popped by about 2nd January, plus it's way too easy to do a DIY copy.

Dude, the article says those little robots can play football too. That would be freakin' awesome.

Engadget have an interesting sound garden concept from JVC showing an integration with a potted plant and a speaker. No longer must we have those large obvious black speakers or small silver surround sound speakers dominating and controlling our evironments! ;-)

I want one of these showers for my bathroom. That is rather simple and beautiful without being a super powershower that strips the skin from your bones!

I guess that the new flat has a power shower then. I don't know what gives me that impression but nevermind!

A powerful shower does do a bit of a massage as well I suppose. But don't you both have wives for that kind of thing?

On that note, a heated waterfall would be pure awesome.

John, Rowenna's stepdad, has something similar to that (only bigger!) installed in his en-suite / sauna. It came from Germany and I think his contraption is called a rainmaker. The cost seems obscene to me but it I suppose if you have the money, enjoy your home and appreciate things like that then it's up to you what you spend your money on. I have to say, the shower is extremely powerful but the feeling is fantastic and doesn't rip your skin off like you would think it would do.

Handbot (not as disturbing as it sounds) is a robot designed to collect a book from the shelf. To be honest it is a good project but why would you want a robot that effectively transferees a book from the shelf to the floor. It just means you have to bend over to collect it.
