Art Articles

Post by Mike »

The Corpus 2.0 article in Dezeen magazine is very interesting. It shows how the human body could adapt to a modern life with a hole in lips for smokers, extended feet to assume the same posture as high heels and multi jointed thumbs for texting.

Second Nature design exhibition. This is quite cool for the exhibition, however, the most exciting thing about the article is the space that contains the art. The photographs of the inner spaces are amazing, I just love the feeling of infinity from the ceilings going nowhere. The lighting is also very good to help to achieve this effect.

I have just been mocked profusely in a meeting for always looking up at the ceiling but there you go, it probably means more to me than others.

Some of those turquoise items are very, very nice. I like the idea of the historical figure themed exhibitions as well, helps give them a more immediate note for those who aren't that interested in history.

An Article on Speculative working ie free work in the hope that a project will be realised. It is very much in line with my opinions. I don't think that any professional should be expected to submit work for which they don't get paid it de-values the service and actually makes the work of a lower standard.

The only exception is Design Competitions in my humble opinion. In the case of the design competition a practice may be after a very high profile or starter project that both the client and they will find mutually beneficial.

Michelangelo early painting revealed after cleaning and shows development via x-ray examination. Very interesting sequence of images.
