Thanks to Lizzie and the BBC website, I now understand the electoral college system. Now I just need to find out exactly what Obama's policies were! Embarrassingly enough, I lost track of the US election campaigns amidst the economic crisis.

The Guardian had this map that shows Obama geting 93% of the votes in Washington DC! Eeek, that is some lead. Everywhere else it seemed to be much more equal. Except the overall result that is. . .

I'm wondering if there's going to be any Republican in-fighting over the Palin issue, as I gather it was controversial within the party... still need to do some reading around the issue.
