Since my watch broke over the weekend I have been looking for cool watches. The Philip Stark range was quite cool but I am not a fan of their newer stuff. Instead I thought I would post here the watches I thought were cool and keep an eye out for them!
One or two of the Rosendahl ones from one of the sites you linked to look pretty nice, similar sort of style. The Issey Miyake ones are mostly good-looking but so expensive.
Storm London seem okay too. No one seems to stock the Alessi watches which is a shame. I would like to see the watch before I buy it. They all look good on the internet!
When I was looking for my 21st birthday present (courtesy of m&d) I found it difficult to find a simple woman's watch (silver link similar to a traditional men's watch). Nowadays there seems to be loads but I don't to update until it breaks (waste of resources / scrooge like philosophy).
As you may have noticed, I seem to collect watches and have a preference for the G-shock range. My current one being one of the best I've had (its a slimline one as opposed to the usual bulk of a tough watch). I've pretty much gotta wear one of these because I'm constantly knocking and soaking my watches... which gets expensive very quickly.
I also have a nixon roadie which is possibly the most comfy watch I've ever worn and a nautica for smart occaisions. the nautica is HEAVY! Stainless steel and no frills, just a classy watch but I wouldn't wear a metal watch everyday as my armhair gets caught
Storm watches are nice, and usually have the "design" aspect I suspect is very important to Mike.
What happened to your watch. Is it not fixable? or just not worth it?
I tend to go for a mixture of design and practicality. My current Seiko Kinetic is a few years old now, but the great thing is that I never have to change the battery. Changing batteries is a nuisance as to maintain the waterproof qualities it always means an expensive return to the manufacturer.

Sorry missed this one. It fell apart at the strap. I could try and get it fixed. . . sort of liking the idea of being a wasteful git and just buying a new one!
ZG Watches have some nice designs there. It is a shame becuase I would prefer to see the watch before I buy it, if you spend £100 on a badly built one it would be very disappointing.
