Watches
Hiya
Since my watch broke over the weekend I have been looking for cool watches. The Philip Stark range was quite cool but I am not a fan of their newer stuff. Instead I thought I would post here the watches I thought were cool and keep an eye out for them!
Alessi Watches. The The Time Out
Angular Momentum cool but wtf? These seem way expensive! Lottery win first I think.

Re: Watches
One or two of the Rosendahl ones from one of the sites you linked to look pretty nice, similar sort of style. The Issey Miyake ones are mostly good-looking but so expensive.

Re: Watches
Storm London seem okay too. No one seems to stock the Alessi watches which is a shame. I would like to see the watch before I buy it. They all look good on the internet!

Re: Watches
When I was looking for my 21st birthday present (courtesy of m&d) I found it difficult to find a simple woman's watch (silver link similar to a traditional men's watch). Nowadays there seems to be loads but I don't to update until it breaks (waste of resources / scrooge like philosophy).

Re: Watches
As you may have noticed, I seem to collect watches and have a preference for the G-shock range. My current one being one of the best I've had (its a slimline one as opposed to the usual bulk of a tough watch). I've pretty much gotta wear one of these because I'm constantly knocking and soaking my watches... which gets expensive very quickly.
I also have a nixon roadie which is possibly the most comfy watch I've ever worn and a nautica for smart occaisions. the nautica is HEAVY! Stainless steel and no frills, just a classy watch but I wouldn't wear a metal watch everyday as my armhair gets caught
Storm watches are nice, and usually have the "design" aspect I suspect is very important to Mike.
What happened to your watch. Is it not fixable? or just not worth it?

Re: Watches
I tend to go for a mixture of design and practicality. My current Seiko Kinetic is a few years old now, but the great thing is that I never have to change the battery. Changing batteries is a nuisance as to maintain the waterproof qualities it always means an expensive return to the manufacturer.
I never have more than one watch at a time.

Re: Watches
Alessi uk website. If only I could find somewhere where I could try one on. Either that or take advantage of an exchange policy!

I believe your arm hair begins to learn that it can't grow in the same way and grows to accommodate the metal links after a period of time.stimpsonslostson wrote:but I wouldn't wear a metal watch everyday as my armhair gets caught
My 21st present was a very smart, titanium watch by Tissot. It's soooooo light I barely remember it's there when I'm wearing it!

Re: Watches
Sorry missed this one. It fell apart at the strap. I could try and get it fixed. . . sort of liking the idea of being a wasteful git and just buying a new one!stimpsonslostson wrote:What happened to your watch. Is it not fixable? or just not worth it?

Re: Watches
I might be able to fix it if you want.
If you get it to me (or Bex) I'll take a look, I like fixing stuff like that.

Re: Watches
Botta Design have some cool watches but they are a little bit out of my price range. Well by about £200+ out of my price range!

Re: Watches
Mondaine watches. Very classic, I like these alot and hope that I can get one of these some time soon!
More Swiss Watches.
Guardian website offer to readers.
Watch Heaven has them for £95-300 which is a reasonable price difference. I would be looking at the sub £100!

Re: Watches
ZG Watches have some nice designs there. It is a shame becuase I would prefer to see the watch before I buy it, if you spend £100 on a badly built one it would be very disappointing.
