BBC1 are showing a drama about Merlin and Prince Arthur. I have invested so much time in this I will watch it to the end but it does have rather hammy acting and a very poor script and effects. The story revolves around the young prince struggling to win his fathers affections and deal with ever increasing instances of magic in a kingdom where it is forbidden. I don't know why they have not been destroyed yet - if everyone else has magic, why not obliterate their kingdom?

Re: Merlin
having just read Once and Future King, I gave up on this early... I got fed up after 2 episodes.
Everytime I've seen it since it seems like slightly hammy saturday evening BBC fodder i think its very like Robin Hood (which I also didn't watch).

Re: Merlin
Hammy is the word I'd use to describe what little I saw of it.
Nothing says "romance" like a kidnapped injured woman!
