A film by the director of Sin City and 300. This is a film about a man who is The Spirit of his city, he fights against 'The Octopus', both of them men who seemly can not die. The Spirit calls on the female companions to help him in his fight. It is a very graphic novel type film as you would expect with unreal whites and reds in an otherwise black and white film. Surreal with moments of proper ironical comedy.
I thought it was very much style over substance (as I did with Sin City). I very much enjoyed the film for the quirke though and would give it a
The plot would get a but had a very good ending.

Re: The Spirit
Defintely shot in a comic book comes to life style, like Sin City: I imagine certain parts mimick stills from the actual graphic novel. It's good for what it is, but some of the dialogue would be almost laughable if I didn't think it was being done entirely tongue-in-cheek. Has some funny/surreal moments as a result, but certainly isn't going to change my world. Can't give it more than:
despite the fact it is very film-noir meets comic-book meets old gangster film pretty.
