Hiya everyone

It appears that Lizzie is in the Latent Phase of labour - ie the slightly painful bit before the main event! It could go on for a few days but this is the start of the final countdown! Will keep you posted as much as I dare - if I push my luck Lizzie has promised to break my iPhone. . . . not really very fair if you ask me.

Hows things progressing I hope?

Progressing very slowly! They are getting stronger and more regular though!

Goodness me the latent phase is lasting a long time. Poor Lizzie has now had two nights of disturbed sleep. The contractions are getting closer to the five minutes apart but ever so slowly. She is doing really well and dealing with the pain brilliantly whilst trying to sleep and get some rest. I must admit I fell asleep quite a bit last night between major contractions. I think I was asleep for about 2 hours at a time! Doh! Not really much I can do though apart from hold her hand and offer some encouragement.

Here is hoping that the baby is close. I don't really want Lizzie to have to endure another sleepness night!

Well she is going to have plenty of sleepless nights baby or no baby mike sorry to be bearer of bad news lol
Heres hoping that things get a move on for lizzie it has been a while now and everyon knows its not pleasant!! Keep your smiles guys it wll be woth t n the end!!

We think we have found out why it is taking so long. Apparently the baby (after being in the correct position for weeks) is now back to back with Lizzie. This is a very painful position and can cause distress in the long term to both Baby and Mother. Hopefully the positions that the midwives have suggested will actually bring the baby back into the correct (and easiest) position.

We are still waiting. Shocking amount of time really. It has been about three and a half days now. . . . the super Cocodemol are really helping Lizzie get some rest so that has put a more positive attitude for her.

Er...well...um...(showing a total, but unsurprising, lack of knowledge in the whole area of child birth here!)...er...hang in there Lizzie!
