Sleep Watch

Post by Mike »

Sleep watch is the new daily update about Millie's sleeping patterns! If anyone else would like to keep us up to date on their sleep please feel free.

Millie had a nice sleep from 10-2, fed between 2-3 and slept again between 3-7! Well done Millie not too shabby. :-D

Thats WAY better than the kid downstairs from our Beech House flat!
Sleep 45mins... scream for 10... sleep 25mins... scream for 15... sleep for 55mins... scream for 10....

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I was actually quite glad to move away from that!! Bex said it improved for a while, and then he started teething recently

have you perfected the "sleep of death" yet, apparently my dad reached a stage where NOTHING would wake him before 7am. Drove Mum NUTS!

On a personal note, I managed a nice 8hrs last night which is about my average, thanks for asking.
HEY! HO! Lets go!

Close. I woke at 2.30 to find Lizzie feeding Millie and then at about 3 to do some rocking whilst Lizzie went to the loo. I was pretty impressed by that one!

Sleep Watch

I woke up at 4 this morning and the cat then decided this was feeding time... 'aim... poke' 'aim... poke'

Combined with being my first Friday back for three months and the word grumpy describes me today.

Shaney woke me up around a similar time because she wanted me to follow her into the bathroom so she could fall on the floor and have her back scratched with my foot.

I hasten to add, fo those who don't know, that Shaney is of course the cat...

i now have two weeks off work. i plan on snoring loudly between midnight and seven, snoozing for a few hours and then getting a good stretch of sleeping in between ten and three in the afternoon. ill then be just about rested enough to watch tv in my underpants and scratch absently at my crotch. stay tuned for other exciting updates as i prepare to get really lazy in the second week of this enforced period of bone-idleness.
I came, I saw, I bought the T-shirt

Yay Millie! Driving Dads to distraction is what daughters are for!
When she's old enough she needs to learn the "poke Dad in the belly when he's trying to sleep off Sunday lunch" trick

I would sleep really well only I don't have as much bed as I'm used to!
And then the cat jumps up!

I felt like that when Lizzie came back from the hospital. No cat though which relieves Lizzie!

Another successful night. Feed at 2am (so I am told) and up at 6. Nice - we had a play for a bit then 15 minutes of squalling before sleepytime again.

Fez - are you trying to cultivate a Fry from Futurama image there? Or is it just so Punk to get up at the crack of noon?

Well, just to let you know my sleep pattern is going to be screwed like a Prague hooker next week.

On Sunday at 2pm we fly to Malaysia and arrive in Dubai 7 hours later, stay for 3 hours and then fly onto KL for another 7 hours arriving at 2.30pm KL time. (or 7am GMT time)

We then do the necessary chat that will no doubt force us awake when we have severe jet lag. When we finally go to bed and all we want to do is sleep we can't because on the next day we fly to Bangkok at 8.25 so we have to leave the house at 6am at the latest! Also, we then gain another hour as we arrive at 9.25 Bangkok time but it is a two hour flight.

When we come back, we fly at 1am KL time and arrive 12.30 GMT time but it is a 17hr flight with stop overs. That will be fun....

Still, it shall be worth it... and the week after that I get to shout ''Good morning Vietnam!'' from my hotel window and when I come back I get to say ''You wouldn't know what it's like, you weren't there man, you weren't there!'' in a dodgy American accent which will probably drive you all nuts but I don't care.

Cool, that sounds like an amazing holiday. The sleep deprivation will be worth it I am sure.

Millie watch was another good 4 hour stint at feeding / sleeping. It is getting into a nice routine. The midwife today says she has lost another 20g from her Hospital weight so we are waking her every 3 hours during the day now to feed (not demand feeding) and then letting her run for 4 hour stints in the night. The only downside to that is they recommend 8 feeds a day . . . yes we know their recommendations do not add up but we are hoping to get a couple of quick feeds in prior to bed to give her some more energy to try and eek out the last feed of the day.

Sleep watch yesterday was quite good. 4 hours, feed then 4 hours. Pretty good.

Last night was more tiring. Baby woke at 2-3am and did not go back to sleep until 5:30 leaving me about 50 minutes before needing to get up and go to work. . . . when I got up she was asleep. Little monster! Just called Lizzie and apparently Millie is up and about and screaming. . . . oh dear. Poor Lizzie. :???:

She has lost weight again. . . its now 60g since she has left hospital. Sleeping is still good but maybe that is a bad thing considering her weight loss. We have started offering her 30ml of breast milk from a bottle after each feed now. Hoepfully this will sort her out pretty quickly.
