Reggie Perrin

Post by Mike »

Reggie Perrin has made his return to BBC1 yesterday. The troubled middle management executive starts to speaks what is on his mind without thinking, dealing with strange work colleagues and bosses and developing a crush on the new manager across the corridor. The new programme is a remake of an original story and has been slightly updated to a modern audience filled with iPods, Laptops and Women support groups. Martin Clunes stars as Reggie with Fay Rippley as his wife.

First Episode had some laugh out loud moments and I would rate it 4s. Good effort.

Will it be as good as the original 'The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin' starring the infamous Leonard Rossiter? Only time will tell!

I liked the original whereas this, for me, is mediocre. There were some funny moments - the cutting of the hedge - but overall, I just didn't like it as much as I thought I would. However, I will persevere because I have nothing better to do as I spent all my money in 'Nam.
