GodMode not working?
Think yourself lucky, we use Vista...I struggle to work for 7 hours without a pop-up asking whether I've got permission to breathe or not!

Re: Windows 7 Launches
Windows XP and IE 7 exploit number 2. Big exploit that is (there are loads more out there). Just goes to show upgrade to latest IE and keep the OS up to date. Not a good thing to have to deal with but still it is better than being hacked.
IE8 finally becomes the worlds most popular browser. Taking the title away from IE6. I can't believe that IE6 is still getting 20% market share. That is rediculous.
Windows 7 reaches 10% market share. Very impressive. I liked the weekly graph usage which shows that Windows 7 take up by home users is higher than busineses (notice the peak at weekends).

We still use IE6 at work, so I'll hazard a guess that a lot of that "IE6 20%" will be government computers. Ugh.

Re: Windows 7 Launches
This is the problem. There is currently a government petition to stop the use of IE6 in all of government/civil service/etc. Good policy really as it's buggy as hell and IE8 is far more secure (but not as secure as Firefox or Chrome).mr_e wrote:We still use IE6 at work, so I'll hazard a guess that a lot of that "IE6 20%" will be government computers. Re: Windows 7 Launches
Windows Mobile 7 product launched just 4 months following Windows Mobile 6.5. I guess Microsoft need that touch screen interface very quickly (since all smart phone have a touch screen element at the moment). Very interesting design if slightly crowding the screen.

Re: Windows 7 Launches
Windows 7 hogs 86-90% of available RAM on machines. This is shocking. That leaves about 15% max available for doing anything! The figures include the fact that Windows 7 has more RAM than windows XP machines! Ps the XP figures are about half.

Re: Windows 7 Launches
I must use my windoze laptop more. Just to make sure that it updates itself occasionally! The stupid thing took two hours to update yesterday, I mean come on, that is rediculously slow!

Re: Windows 7 Launches
50 to be precice but the automatic nature of the update was what caused me problems. All programmes started to update at once causing a massive hog of system resources to the point of not being able to launch and use IE or Safari, or Task Manager for that matter.

Actually called Windows Phone 7 Series. Catchy.Mike wrote:Windows Mobile 7 product launched just 4 months following Windows Mobile 6.5. Updates for Windows Vista (original - ie no service packs) are to be turned off before Windows XP Service Pack 2. Interesting, I wonder when my version of XP is going to stop getting updates. I must be sometime soon by now.

Re: Windows 7 Launches
xp is supported till 2013 I think.
Re: Windows 7 Launches
Yup, I think Microsoft are at the stage with XP where they've stopped releasing feature updates and are just doing security updates until 2014. Here's a link to the XP support lifecycle page.

Re: Windows 7 Launches
Random vulnerability where your XP computer can be hacked by pressing the F1 key when prompted. How very odd.
