Do you remember being this Naive?

Post by Mike »

School children talking about money and houses. It is quite sweet I guess. I remember being that naive and thinking my parents had an endless pot of cash (under the bed maybe?) and that £50 was an unbelievable amount of money that you would never be able to spend in a million years. Lets be honest - when you are buying penny sweets it is hard to spend £50!

Parts of it are quite sweet, but I'm sure I didn't know half the stuff they did about money when I was their age, like what the chancellor does, or how the NHS is funded through taxes. There are some brilliant quotes in there:

If you had children but not enough money to feed them, what would you do?
G: I'd make sure I looked good so I could get a very rich husband who could pay for things.

That girl will go far.

What was that TV programme that had kids sharing their wisdom about random subjects on it?

Wasn't that a feature on Noel's House Party or something like that?

Are you thinking of 'Are you smarter than a ten year old?'. Or there was that awful show hosted by Ronnie Corbett called 'Small Talk'.
