Mac Family Tree

Post by Mike »

I think the clue is in the title. This application is to help you create a family tree database on an Apple Mac. The input system is very intuitative and easy to understand. Everyone is arranged into families which makes it very simple.

Plus points are the ease of use minus points are it won't generate a full tree only an ancestors or a descendants tree. I get the feeling it also allows for more serious research by allowing you to input sources and their validity. Very scientific!

3S lost 1S for not having a full tree printing option!

I now have sources added to my family tree! It is very exciting but quite hard work. It was rather annoying that the programme crashed just as I was finishing the first round and I had to do it all again!

PS Does anyone know where you can search the census online for free and actually see the results? The government have a page on their website but it is all done through their partners - ie you have to pay 10 credits to see each record, irrespective of if it is the right one or not.
