Lancashire Cricket Club - Redevelopment

Post by Mike »

Lancashire Cricket Club is being redeveloped by Ask and Tesco to ensure that the North West has a world class cricket venue. Please vote yes to the proposals and help put pressure on the planning process. I don't quite know why this would not be approved, after all we should be encoraging investment in the NW, especially as it bring revenue through tourism etc.

Exactly what is Tesco's involvement in the re-development? Are they going to tack a supermarket onto the front as they wanted to do in Everton's new stadium in Kirkby?

I think a new Tesco superstore will be included in the general masterplan but I am thinking of the bigger picture. We want the ashes tests to be brought back to Old Trafford asap and this is part of the deal. It sucks but for all of the evils of Tesco they have the money to spend on the re-development.

Planning Approval won for the new masterplan around the cricket ground. Apparently a competing developer will apeal to the secretary of state but I am hopeful we can secure a new lease of life for the iconic cricket ground.

Looks like there are some very angry local residents, but it would be good to see it used for cricket again. That Tesco store is frigging huge though.

It was a good thing that planning permission was won for this. It has kept me busy for most of 2012!
