House In The Clouds

We were in Thorpeness a few days ago, and there is a delightful bit of architecture in the form of the Housae In The Clouds. See it at http://www.houseintheclouds.co.uk and weep at the cost of staying there....

Love the building though, what do you architects think?

I'm no architect, believe me I know that, and I may get architecturally-crucified for this but........... I like it. I think it is fun, novel, cool, interesting. I would stay there if I could afford it.

I also don't think it is badly priced for some months considering how many people will be actually living there.

With the way house prices are going and the way city space is becoming much more valuable, I can see this idea catching on to some degree.

Very Neatherlands-esque. I liked the house, but hated the stupid computer render of the front of the website. They should have just gone outside and taken a nice picture on a good day! Very cool.

?270 per person per week at peak season doesn't seem too bad at all. But a holiday village "for people who want to experience life as it was when England was Merrie England". I sure as hell don't remember anything like that in history of architecture.

And the render does suck, although the house itself is quite endearing in a way. "Playful" may be the word I'm looking for here.

Does that include or exclude actual cockoo clocks?

includes. i also don't care for grandfather clocks, egg timers, digital watches or sun dials. never been a fan of something that's no use after dark

Sun dials work during the night. They are usually way out depending on where your light source and therefore rather inaccurate, however, it will still work!
