The New Doctor Who goes back to the basics of Doctor Who as it was conceived in years gone by! Interesting and slightly surreal - especially as the main producer was anti-darlek!

It makes you think how a lot of classic show may have been different, or not classics at all, but for a few committed people willing to carry their ideas through. Personally, I've not seen many of the original shows, but it does have me kind of interested now... all those men in mustaches making new-fangled sci-fi.

I have been watching the Catherine Tate series at the moment as it is on BB3. It is very, very good and I am enjoying it immensly. . . strange how you let things go and then they suddently capture your attention again.

I've seen a couple of the new episodes. They seem to have kept the quality of the previous series up, so all good on that front. Didn't see too much of the morbid philosophising in this one either... oh wait, yes I did. It was still good though.

The Third New Doctor has started filming in his new outfit. Is it me or does he actually look abit like a young Michael Palin?! He seems to be a bit of a cross between Punk Fashion and a University Professor.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought "university professor" when I saw that. The bad news from the article is that it'll be spring 2010 before the next series starts.

On another forum I post on (guitars and stuff), someone reckons he looks like a young Keith Floyd in that outfit. Should be an interesting set of storylines...

Michael Moorcock is to write a Doctor Who episode!

Ps who saw Waters of Mars on BBC 1 on Sunday?! Quality story line. Did the Doctor overstep the the line? Freaky and scary episode!

Moorcock's episode should be quality seeing as he is amazing. I'm betting he might base something around the multiverse... Having read a few of his books I will definitely be watching that one for sure.

I watched it on Sunday night and I thought it was fabulous. I think he did overstep the line. I also think the sfx team overstepped the line as well because I kind of liked the crappy props they used to have. I hope they don't go like Red Dwarf did and start to go o.t.t. on the sfx and fit the storyline around c.g.i. after c.g.i.

An old Doctor Who story with Tom Baker was shelved in 1979. This BBC article explains why. The episode, called Shada, was released for the first time in 1992 with over narration by Tom himself. I remember this episode and thought others might be interested too!

A victim of strikes at the BBC, with some studio sessions cancelled because of lack of available slots for recording. We have what exists of Shada on VHS and it's great fun, as you would expect from a Douglas Adams story for Tom Baker.

It was apparently a season finale and feels (where filmed) like an extremely polished story!
