To get everyone in the festive mood I'm interested to know what your all time favourite Christmas films are. I think the films that really get me in the festive mood are probably:

-Love Actually
-Sound of Music (reminds of Christmas Eve even in the middle of June !!)
-Wizard of Oz (A film that seemed to be on every Christmas throughout my childhood ).
- A Christmas Carol and or Oliver Twist (you can't beat a bit of Dickens over the Festive period)

I agree with the bottom two definitely.

Other films:

- Scrooged with Bill Murray.
- The Muppets Christmas Carol.
- It's a Wonderful Life (a classic).

I second Scrooged with Bill Murray - very funny. . . .

I don't think that I know of any more christmas fun filled films. I am supposing that the normal run of Bond etc are not really what you are looking for?!

Thinking about this, strictly speaking Gremlins is a Christmas film. As is Die Hard and Home Alone.

I also like a Nightmare Before Christmas (but maybe that's because I'm weird!)

I love the movie Elf with Will Ferrell!
One grown up elf and some juvenile mayhem, it's ace; which is funny cos I hate the juvenile mayhem that work throws at me!
Personal favourite moment: Elf downs a 2L bottle of Coke, burps for about a year and then says - incredulously - "DID YOU HEAR THAT?!!!!"
It's ok, i know i'm immature! :D

''The Snowman by Raymond Briggs'' cartoon. I love it, I am obsessed with it, I know most of the words to ''Walking in the air''. I am not ashamed.

My favourite christmas film of all time is Die Hard.

I always think of Watership Down for some reason, but it's not really that Christmassy. I suppose it has the death and rebirth theme going on, though.

Muppets Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist (the black and white one), definitely. Classics.

Watership down irritates the crap out of me. I'd have shot the chuffing rabbit and eaten it for tea if I'd had the chance. It is depressing and boring.

If it has a Santa Claus with a machine gun, Die Hard wins hands down.

Sequel

Maybe in the new sequel?!...

...Bruce Willis may even be able to grow a genuine white beard by then, if he decides to let any of his hair ever grow again?

Slightly off on a tangent, that's reminded me of a certain Weird Al Yankovic song: The Night Santa Went Crazy (live video). Okay, I'm done now.
