I heard that she was not popular but to be sacked for it is a bit over the top. Who cares what she decides to do in her personal time? How does it affect her performance on the job? :-D

Apparently she recorded the film in 2004 (whilst training to be a teacher...oh, dear), before starting at Stockport Grammar in 2006. It's not like she did it whilst teaching, but she might've seen trouble on the horizon, what with intending to become a teacher and everything.

Has she actually been sacked? Last thing I heard was that she was suspended pending further enquiries. If it's true she filmed it whilst on teacher training, I can't really see a disciplinary hearing going very well for her. Don't necessarily agree with any sacking, but I don't know what it would be like to teach kids after that, either. They'd get over it (despite the first month or two being hellish), surely?

I think she has lost her job. Just on that note mr_e think of the bigger picture.
1) Kids do forget minor stuff but not something like this. Something like this would be pure gold and records would be made. Think about our memories of school - are they the good lessons? Generally, they are when somebody did something funny or sexual. Behaviour would be out of control ...anywhere.
2) The staffroom would be hell. Comments abouts her would be rife. A sanctuary could now become a hell-zone, etc, etc.
3) Parents would kick up a stink - my kid is being taught by this, etc. Their kid might be a little S but it doesn't stop them from blaming it on something else.
4) Media attention would be damning if she were to keep her job without some sort of disciplinary action being seen to be taken. Being a grammar school it is possibly a fee paying school and they will not want anything to dent possible income. I don't know what they spend it on but it may go on wages (as I say, I don't know) and a Head will need to look at what is best all round for their school.

BTW - back to topic - love the Mock the Week ones.

It's very sad that they had to do that though. It has no reflection on her abilities as a teacher at all. . . . pretty harsh if you has me.

I've finally been able to see some of those videos now that we have internet and a phone line again! The spoon slide guitar is especially cool, and I may just be hunting down a suitable spoon to give it a go sometime soon.

Unfortunately that video will affect her capabilty as a teacher, due to some pupils, parents and staff being idiots. It doesn't help that her full name is now all over the news/internet as well.

She was doomed when this hit the news, but really she was only doing what actresses have to do all the time. Actually I really feel sympathetic towards the poor girl who must be having a very very bad time with this.

The hypocrites who are giving her hell will no doubt be watching much more graphic stuff on the Satellite channels or a DVD tonight whilst they rant their outrage in public.

If only people had just shrugged their shoulders and said, "So what?" then the kids would accept that and get tired of it all and move on to the next victim.

Unfortunately I don't think she could face a class now.

May as well continue the innuendo-laden and saucy theme. Needless to say, view these at work at your own risk:

The cleavage-tastic skit that is Lindsay Lohan - "Harry Potter".
The banned Pop Rocks commercial, which Mike has already posted. The really dubious (or funny, depending on your sense of humour) bit is the Pop Rocks commercial remix. God bless YouTube.
Just to finish off, there's this banned Korean commercial. The censors are obviously a bit stricter over there.

The Thriller video is quality, brings a little bit of joy to people's morning commutes!

Andy, the John Cooper Clarke stuff is great. I assume that goes down pretty well with the kids, not the usual sort of stuff they'll be used to from poets.

Alas, hardly any John Cooper Clarke stuff can get done because of his swearing and his general non-compliance to kiss arse the powers-that-be / old farts who decide what is going on the exam syllabus. In protest I tell the kids to check him out and they like him. Pity really, people like him (and others like McGough and Henri) are more relevant to the kids lives and would probably foster a bit of excitement and ''love'' of poetry/literature. Compared with Heaney, he is livewire. However, that utopia will never be available to me. But I can dream. Or invent a time jump. (That thing from Red Dwarf that gave us Ace Rimmer)
