Good on him, at least he knew he would be the first in line! I would love to do that one day just to have the experience of being first in line and horrid and sweaty after barely sleeping for four days! :D

not sure... I really don't like the thought of putting my life on hold just to get a gadget that I can get a week later. Maybe that's me but I generally don't get too held up on things like this.

It would be an experience though....

If we were really clever we would pre-order and have it delivered. . . .

but then you'd lose the whole excitement of actually seeing a brand new gadget close-up before buying it with a huge grin plastered all over your face and walking out like you are walking on air in smug mode.

But then again, it might have been torrential rain during the night....

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Just imagine the face of the bloke who waited in the rain for 4 days to get the phone jumping up and down in excitement just to see me walking past talking on a delivered version.

Claire - Shame on you it is not JUST a phone. Jeez.

I doubt that would happen with Royal Mail Mike. However, it would be funny. Almost funny enough to camp out for.

Almost.

Wow, I can totally see the need to waste four days of my life so that I can get a phone a few days quicker than everyone else. I can only assume that guy must have some obsessive-compulsive thing going on.

I'm sort of with Claire on this one...it is essentially just a phone, with vaguely useful extra bits and nicer design. Given how much you pay for the handset, those tariffs are a little surprising.

I am surrounded by heathens. It is not JUST a phone. It is a lifestyle choice. . . .

So, how is having an iPhone going to change your lifestyle? Is it going to turn you gay? Turn you into a goth? Help you find God? Those are lifestyle choices, the iPhone is just a very slinky phone with useful extra bits on it.

I suspect I'm a bit of a heathen...

I was fine, but the fact that you chose to read it otherwise (yes, there were two ways to read it) says quite a lot...it should be read in the "gently teasing (non-kinky)" manner. Always seeing the negatives, Mr. "angry on Saturday" Riley.

Hopefully we'll have some hands-on reviews of the iPhone shortly, so it can be improved and bug-fixed before it hits the UK.

Of all the tones in all the world, you had to use the gently teasing but non-kinky one.
