I take it that this post isn't delivered in the gently teasing format? Mind you, it does have elements of kinkiness in it?

I had to allow myself a brief chuckle, as I can imagine exactly the tone of voice you'd say that in. The khakis bit has left me a little confused, though. Not that that's difficult, as I'm really out of it today....

Diurnal whaaa? Yeah, hanging on in there. I don't think it's sleep-related this time though, possibly eye-strain or something.

Did anyone watch that iPhone disassembly video that Al posted in another thread? It was a bit of a waste...

I have heard that one disassembly was completed very carefully and they were able to identify all the parts and then reassemble as a working article. There seems to be a space for a 3G receiver for the Europe market. Yay.

I think in the whole topic about about the iPhone, we've missed out one crucial question...Will It Blend? :D

They have hacked the iPhone according to a BBC article. They have only managed to do it by altering the hardware and software though - it will only be a complete hack when they have managed to completely hack using software only but it is quite impressive that it has taken about 7 weeks to get even an imperfect workaround. Aparently they have removed the text representation of voice mail to make this work.

They have brought out a new line of iPods. The Announcement from apple where it shows the new iPhone like iPod Touch. They same as an iPhone but without the phone capacity but WITH wifi. This is a great addition to the lineup and probably an indication that the iPhone will get wifi in the next generation. There is a suspicious hole in the iPhone which a wifi antenna would fit very nicely!

I'm quite tempted by those...the battery life on my Sony mp3 player is down to about 8 hours now, which isn't great.

My only concern is the relatively low storage capacity compared to the current top of the range iPod. It would actually be lower than my current player (20Gb), but then the compression through iTunes is possibly better than the junky piece of software that Sony insist you use.

How many gb's of music do you own? Is it more than 16gb? If not then its not too much of a problem! You could always get a 160gb 'classic'.
