2001: A Space Odesey

I watched this Stanley Kubrick Film over the weekend. They idea is that Humans and Apes find a strange obelisk on the Moon and in the desert. In the future a supercomputer HAL and a human crew jet of to Jupiter on a strange mission.
I was personally very amazed at what I would call iconic designed items in that film. There were some real space age style 60's furniture in there which I thought was great, the film itself actually has stood the test of time very well with effects which are simple and effective.
My one criticism is that the film was quite indulgent. I think he needed someone to say, No that is just about enough. We get the picture, move on.
Never the less, I would rate
. Classic with out a doubt and very, very good.
PS My copy from Love Film had a INTERMISSION half way through which I thought was good. None of this sitting for 2.5 hours without a break. . . . . it does show a real difference in opinion between now and then. Then 1.5 hours was enough sitting, they needed a break. Now - King Kong - need I say more. . . . .
PPS What are you doing Dave? I think I deserve an explanation. . . . . . ending in singing Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do! Quality scene. I don't want to give it away to those who have not watch it.
PPPS How weird and scary is HAL's red eye?
