Post by Mike »

Yay

I have just placed an order with Amazon for the Legend of Zelda on the Wii. I am very excited!

Lizzie prepare to remove thy self from the TV. Saturday used to be study day, now it is Zelda Day. . . . Joking (kind of)

Soon the line ''you spend more time on that thing and give it more attention than me'' followed by a responding grunt will be a regular occurance in your household.

There's nothing like a good instruction booklet read to have you drooling in anticipation! It'll be interesting to see how the fighting and stuff works...

I managed to play for 30 minutes last night on Zelda - not long but it flew by. I can see some Saturdays disappearing with this one! The control system seems to work very well thus far. I liked the sensitivity of the movement stick, a slight movement to walk and a full on blast to run!

Glad you like it, thought you would. The control system is just so easy to get to grips with that it makes it a joy to play. Congrats Nintendo! :D

I was talking to Al on Sat about a particularly difficult section of the game where you have to jump to a very small platform and then always overjump a second. I discovered why. You can not jump this section until you have found a shadow helper and have been transformed into a wolf. . . . doh. I wasted about 30-45 minutes feeling pretty dumb on this. . . .

Ah. I wish I could've remembered that in the pub, it might have saved you a little bit of time!

By the time I had asked the question I had already become bored of trying to sort it out and I move on.

BtW how cool are the monkey's helping out out during the first dungeon? I loved the monkey swinging assistance to get to the first boss.

The monkeys are indeed useful, although not particularly grateful for you risking your life for them!

They clapped . . . . . and then helped my roll around to hidden areas of the dungeon. I feel that they are even less grateful in a second. I have not quite finished the dungeon yet. I have just defeated the boss though which is good. :D
