This is a really cool idea. Lots of coders, designers and wannabe hopefuls will get the chance to design their own game in a professional context. It could be a really good opportunity for people and new talent as well as making lots of people proud of their achievement.

That's a really ambitious idea, they'll probably have some pretty talented people in that pool to choose from. I'll be keeping an eye on this one, although it looks like it'll be a good couple of years away yet.

It does raise the interesting possibility of open-source games, though. If it works for operating systems, then why not for games?
