a spin off following the success of the first naked gun film, lesie neilsen returns as frank dreban in a six episode series written by the original creators of airplane! and the film the series was based on. think of it as naked gun on a smaller budget and your about there; neilsen is the only actor from the first film to reprise his role, but the other characters are replaced rather than recast - alan north as dreban's superior is superb.
despite less money for the large-scale jokes of the films, instead there are tight dialogue sequences that are hilarious and sight gags taking the piss out of famous movies and send ups of film stars. brilliant stuff - a shame there weren't more episodes.
