Hello all,
Was just wondering if you were pleased, unhappy or indifferent that labour won a 3rd term.
Personally I feel that the party in charge does not change the civil servants or advisors really so they are just figure heads. However, I am not happy about another labour majority. I want proportional representation, Give it to me!

There's no doubting that under PR the voting would be much closer, and that in turn might encourage some decent turnouts. I believe Labour would still have won, but only by about 30 seats, not 150-odd.
The advisors do, at the end of the day, only advise, and we shouldn't hold them responsible for government decisions. Of course, in a role where you control information, such a post may be open to abuse (eevil laugh).

Strange as it may seem, given the violent behaviour of Ral Partha elsewhere, I can't be happy with a government that sent so many people to their deaths on such a dubious and flimsy pretext as there was. After all the killing, the deceit and the lies, however did they win?
However, maybe I'm in the minority with those thoughts, and in a democracy I can be outvoted....

I always suspected Blair and his Death's Head smile would win, but I was hoping for a much smaller majority for Labour this time - even smaller than the one they got. I also so thought the Lib Dems would gain a lot more seats, though they still ended up with more MPs in the new Commons than the party has ever had.
Sadly, the obvious choice to form a new and better government didn't make the impact one would have hoped, although belief is now rising that in five years time the greatest political group this country has will charge to glorious victory. I speak, of course, of The Monstrous Raving Loony Party - vote insanity, you know it makes sense!

I am and always have been anti-war. It's kinda ridiculus. and to see the return of Bush's lapdog wasn't a suprise.....
But look on the bright side. At least the Torys didn't win.

It is blindingly obvious that the most intelligent individual in the current parliament is linked to David Blunkett's team in his new office. Cool under pressure, always knows when to keep quiet and says volumes without speaking at all when she crapped on the chamber floor.
I speak, of course, of Blunkett's guidedog Sadie.
