Is it really terminal? I don't think anyone has died from being single. Unless of course you are living alone with lots of cats and you happen to fall of a ladder or something . . . . it would also rely on you having no contact with the outside world and no one missing you at all. . . .
It could almost happen, except for the cats. Non-interestngly enough, the Cambridge online dictionary also lists one of the meanings as "extreme", which is more of the context I had in mind. But we can go with the other one as well, that's cool. If confusing. If only Claire were here...
I really should get out more. Either that or take something up. And no, not that, you sick gits. Yes, I know, I did too.
My grandma has pictures of my mum's, my aunt's and my cousin's wedding on the sideboard ... and my graduation - I get the impression she thinks I'm married to the job!
Hello guys! in Nairobi now, killing time before flying tomorrow. just got back from safari...it was ace. someone mentioned photos before. i have a running total of over 600 so far!!! but i will only print off a select few to actually show so i won't bore you to tears.
and btw, why is everyone choosing to have a relationship "bar humbug" rant on my africa blog! as much as i would and could join in, start a separate post! i am also resident in Singleton, and as much as i'm sure the weather is nicer in Couplesville, i've nevertheless had a fab summer. don't let the bastards get you down and thank god for good friends.
Hasta luego, peeps!

In my defense I only got onto the subject of "relationships" as part of my 'what I've been up to..' update, i.e. my holiday in Devon to stay with the rellies. Glad the safari was good, hope you saw lots of exciting beasts.
600 photos does sound a lot but I'm sure we could serialise them and have some slide shows :D Yes, I am that sad, I like nothing more than a slide show, especially when accompanied with chips'n'dips and a fine wine.
I would have to say "oh hell yeah Chrissie, slideshow!": edit out the obscene and really bad ones (not that there are any, I'm sure) and get the wine and dips out. Just need something suitable to display them on, and we're good to go. Turn it into more of a slide party. A celebration, if you will.
i'm confused. i distinctly remember andy writing something about rowena's gran hinting rather obviously about how they should get married in newcastle, and i replied to it [see above] but now andy's message is nowhere to be found and my message looks all the more weird for being here in the middle of this thread.
has someone deleted andy's message or have i somehow managed to post my own in completely the wrong part of the site?

I remember posting that and thought it was on this thread as well.
However, I still don't understand why you want to ''smack down'' Rowenna's gran? Be careful, them Geordies are mental - a couple of tinnies of Newcy Brown and it's fight night.
I think the thread you speak of is in this discussion and its at the bottom of the previous page.
Grannies truly know no subtlety, its from the years of experience that they are so keen to make you constantly aware of.

Wonderful :D
My favourite old lady quote has to be this woman from Church called Doris. There was this bloke that regularly attended Church and everyone had worked out he was gay - it was obvious, he could sing, dressed extremely well, made witty comments and after a coffee would discreetly tell you but ask you not to make it obvious to anyone else. Anyway, no-one was bothered because they knew it and he decided to tell Doris, aged 80+. Her reaction was ''Yer what? Yer not a yer? Can't doctor give thee some pills fort sort thee owt''.
