this morning i heard the very sad news that my favourite fantasy author, David Gemmell, died of complications after heart surgery earlier this week, he was 57. Gemmell has been at the forefront of british fantasy ever since 'legend' was first published in 1984, and his death brings to an end a career of fantastic novels that have kept me entertained for well over a decade. the only solis i have been able to draw is that there are still a considerable number of his books i have yet to read, plus of course the work i have already read and enjoyed immensely through the years. his contributions to the fantasy canon will be greatly missed

That is sad. ''Legend'' is a fantastic book and one that I enjoyed immensely. I plan to read a few more of them in the future.
