Lizzie and I went to Haworth to visit Bronte country on tuesday. It was really nice up there and you can really see the potential bleakness of the area. We managed to see the Bronte museum in their old house and a lot of their furniture. It is always amazing to think that someone who has been very influential in History used and even died on some of that furniture.

Well worth a visit if you can stomach the long traffic jams on the M62, we were really unlucky. There was a traffic jam all the way there and a crash all the way back. On the way back we eventually went through Oldham to get home. It probably saved us a couple of hours in the end. In total we spent about 5 hours travelling only 100 miles. . . .

i love haworth - that's where the keighly worth valley railway has it's engine shed. the smell of burning coal and lubricating oil, it's why so many trainspotters have to have treatment for substance abuse.
