GDQ1-7 Queen of the Spiders

Post by johnriley1uk »

Yes, it's time for the descent into the depths of the Oerth.

Dragonstone Vale has been decimated by drow attackers, and this is not supposed to have happened. Lolth, furious at being embarrassed by the adventurers' success on the Isle of the Ape, has purloined the key to the webs of Istus, Lady of our Fate.

The party are even now in Little Sasha's Inn, guests of Goffonnen The Dwarf, Little Sasha and the mysterious Oswald Winthrop Smythe III. Soon they must leave to meet their fate, be it destruction at the hand of Lolth, Queen of the Spiders, or victory and the reinstatement of Istus as the Mistress of Fate.

The future of Fate itself is at stake...

This is the new xp Tally and levels tally for the PCs.

Mort Deadstock 4,072,372 xp Thief Level 28
Lady Amy Tranth 3,847,652 xp Ranger Level 20
Sir John Milton 4,194,493 xp Cavalier Level 22
Dorn 6,094,192 xp Barbarian Level 20
Simon Penderghast 3,847,703xp Magic User Level 20
Melanie Masters 4,035,299 xp Cleric level 25
Queen Alion 1,976,607 xp Fighter Level 5 (Class Limit) and
1,976,607 xp Thief level 18
Dougster 1 xp Heirophant Druid Level 16

Well done party!

Those pesky thieves and clerics are always gaining massive levels. I don't know how they do it!

four levels in the space of one adventure? and yet mort still couldn't beat a single tribesman in armed combat. twenty-eighth level is nothing if the most damage you can do to an opponent in a round is twelve hit points, and that could be a sizeable disadvantage if the thief has to face his ex-employer during the next adventure :-(

As you loom towards 30th level, this might be a good time to mention that when that is achieved PCs are claimed by the gods as avatars and taken in a column of Glorious Light to join with them in whatever plane of existence is appropriate.

Could this be the ultimate trap? Where would Mort be summoned to? Or will all be thwarted by simple death by poison spider, the bane of many a high level adventurer who happens to fail a simple saving throw....

On the other hand you could win....
