Things Learned Today!
Lesson 1: Long hair and vacuum cleaners with rotating parts do NOT go well together. This was discovered after having to take my vacuum to pieces and unwind all of Lizzie's hair out of the rotating parts.

something else that shouldnt mix; superglue and exposed skin. the number of times ive had to prise my fingers apart trying to put model kits together is embarassing
I came, I saw, I bought the T-shirt
Re: Things Learned Today!
I always scrape the toes of my shoes along the carpet first. This brings all the hair up in big clumps, so you can pick it off before it clogs your vacuum. It probably doesn't help matters if you have one of the bagless "cylinder-vortex-thingie" vacuums though.Mike wrote:Lesson 1: Long hair and vacuum cleaners with rotating parts do NOT go well together. Phil says this happens because superglue was designed to glue wounds together during the Vietnam conflict. Given your experience, it does begin to make sense.Fez wrote:something else that shouldnt mix; superglue and exposed skin. the number of times ive had to prise my fingers apart trying to put model kits together is embarassing
Personally, I didn't learn much today. Yet.

Not as time-consuming as taking your vacuum to pieces...

Re: Things Learned Today!
Suppose - but I only had to do that once in three years. Sorry I forgot you were in a student house, you only vacuum once a year anyway

Something I learnt yesterday. Even standing towards the back of a gig does not necessarily prevent partial deafness the day after if the band are really, really loud!

Lesson 3: Going to the gym two days running is guaranteed to make your arms, legs, elbows and stomach ache like hell!
Lesson 3a: Hot drinks (contained in a nice ceramic cup) and pressed gently into sore elbows and arms is an enormous help!

Learnt today...asking your boss for work as you are exceedingly bored is not a good idea, as he'll give you some.

Re: Things Learned Today!
Today I've learnt that while not getting dressed until half 3 is not ideal, i'm alright with it.
Yesterday...no...today, it was about half 2 in the morning, i learnt that even if your friends are standing right next to the pile of coats and bags, you should under no circumstances leave your bag. I took my digital camera out with me for only the second time ever, and it got nicked. Phone and £40 and 2 credit cards/ 1 debit card and drivers licence, no. just the camera. £300. gone. i was really upset last night about it (alcohol baaaaaad), or rather about the fact that i'm already stressed about money and i won't be able to afford to replace it. gutted. Aaaaaaand, it's even more annoying because in the process of desperately trying to find my camera thinking it had fallen out of bag into dark corner etc, i found someone's posh motorola phone on the floor! but I handed the bloody thing in.

Trainers work best.I always scrape the toes of my shoes along the carpet first.
