Has anyone heard of this web hosting company? I am needing to change web hosting imminently and would like to know what people think.
Let me know if you hear anything.

Good review.
They seem sound, may as well go for it. Does this mean slightly bigger pictures? Lord knows what else you'd do with 1GB a month of bandwidth...for about ?2.50 a month...damn, that looks good. If I had anything worth putting online, I'd be very tempted.

That does seem to be a good indication of service. I have had some interaction with them before and they respond to emails very quickly. Much quicker than P-1.net too!

Oooh. I have another suggestion from another forum.
Streamline.net which is cheaper than IX Webhosting, has slightly less features but is cheaper with unlimited bandwidth. Another possibility if anyone has heard anything about them?

Well then, you've only got to ask yourself two questions:
10 INPUT "WILL YOU NEED THE EXTRA FEATURES?"; A
20 IF A="NO" GOTO 40
30 IF A="YES" GOTO 50
40 PRINT "STREAMLINE.NET"
45 GOTO 95
50 INPUT "WILL YOU EXCEED THE 1,000GB BANDWIDTH LIMIT?"; B
60 IF B="NO" GOTO 80
70 IF B="YES" GOTO 90
80 PRINT "IX HOSTING"
90 PRINT "FIND ANOTHER PROVIDER"
95 EXIT
Yeah, don't know why I did that in (probbaly poorly syntaxed) BASIC. Reminds me of the Commodore 64. Heh.

mr_e: I think that the Sky debacle actually proves that your decision making process is totally flawed. Using that process you are omitting the quality and reliability of service which is the main factor defining this thread.
If all things were equal I would agree with your assessment, however, there is no indication that Streamline.net and IXWebHosting are actually equal.
On a point I heard some disturbing double charging problems at Streamline. I have also heard of downtime problems at IXWebHosting! The choices are there but I will need to decide this week.

I was kind of assuming they both had similar uptime guarantees and won't do stupid shite. I could argue my logic still stands, especially as you've read negative stuff about both providers now, so it sort of evens out. Yeah, I am making some major assumptions, though.
To be honest, you could get screwed over by either, so I'd still go with the original two-question one, unless you have bad feelings about one in particular.
