Cool Specs

Post by Mike »

This is a really really cool idea. The guy makes specs out of wood. Genius, I think I will buy a pair when I can afford the cost of a consultation and manufacture of a specially designed bit of kit!

If you wore a pair of them then I am afraid that I would have to call out

''You should have gone to Specsavers''

It's an entrepreneurial idea but I personally wouldn't bother.

The acronym "wtf" sprang to mind. I wouldn't take any of the designs shown there, but the opportunity to get your own custom built frames is kind of cool. I'd feel like I was wearing a cabinet or something, though. At least you can blend in amongst the furniture.

I wonder if you would have to paint your glasses to stop them from rotting. . . . .

Here is another way of looking at it. At least you would know that I hadn't gone to specsavers.

Talking of cool specs I saw a gal on the train who had red cat contact lenses. They were weird. I did a double take as at first I thought she was a devil!

Surely some of those must affect your peripheral vision slightly? The coolest ones I've seen are the all black ones, so you get that "shark-eye" huge pupil sort of look. I'm sure I've seen cat-eye ones as well.

Soon you'll be able to get a cheapo version at IKEA done by some random weird Swedish named-designer like SUCKOC or SEALRON

I'd have thought so too, can't see why anyone but actors doing a very specific role would want to wear them.

Here's a link to some black ones that mr_e mentioned: http://www.wildcontacts.com/lenses_spec ... ackout.htm

And here's the freakiest set on their site, hypnotic lenses: http://www.wildcontacts.com/lenses_spec ... notica.htm

Now those are freaky!
