Looks like I might be organising something here...cool. Plenty of time yet, as it's certainly going to be a summer, or at least decent weather walk I'd think.

On the subject of that Woody and Tony moment, it appears that it's graded as moderate, but who was saying there's a high-ish chance of going the wrong way as the path isn't clearly marked? I can't believe they didn't take photos! Did they just decide to randomly climb it? I have no background to the whole thing...so many questions.

I was under the impression they had deliberately decided to do a bit of off roading - but I may be wrong.

I find it hard to believe you'd loose the path on Snowdon, seeing as it's not exactly a lonely climb to the summit of Snowdon as I recall !!!

i believe woody told me they deliberatly wanted to try a different way up to avoid the other tourists, thus an easy rescue would have been out of the question.

The ''different way up'' nearly saved them on time as well because he was about to take the 'express route' down from what he told me!

Well, I thought I should resurrect this topic because today was my first gym session in over two months due to work commitments, holidaying, DIY jobs and to be honest..... I couldn't be arsed and much preferred surfing the net. However, that didn't lose the cals and I put some on. So, I decided to do a bit of burning today and erm... I'm knackered.

Rowenna decided that in order to ease herself back in she would join one of the weekly classes - Aqua Aerobics - and she said she felt fine when she came out. I, on the other hand, am in pain. I have a serious epidemic of the oooohs, ahhhhhhs and ssssssssts coming on and my body is feeling the worse for wear after a one-hour workout in the gymnasium. I did manage to run a mile in 8 1/2 minutes though which impressed me but that is nowhere near my average. However, I am determined to carry on. I need to because my never-existant six pack has transformed from a barrel into a crate for the brewery. Tomorrow, I embark on a session called ''low circuit training'' and will be paying £1 for the pleasure of some fitness freak called Michael (who has a seriously annoying grinning smile) to put my body through hell. Now if it was Katie who was taking the session........

I have been having the same issues with time. Have not been to the gym for about 1-2 months now. I really, really want to go back though as I liked the burning feeling (and also the extra energy it gave!)

Here's hoping I will be able to get there this weekend. :D

This morning I ached a little but I did feel much better strangely. I will be going tonight for about 40 minutes I feel - 1 mile jog and then some machine work.

Nicely done - I like running machines they keep your pace constant which is great and the ground moves so it is easier! I managed to run for an hour once. Did something like 6-7 miles which was quite impressive for me. Would like to gym it tonight but don't have time! :D

6-7 miles is something that I won't be able to match for a while. The running got tough at 8/10s of the mile but I persevered today and strangely felt better at 9/10s and felt bloody fantastically elated at the finish! Then completely knackered 2 minutes later.

Anyway, I was able to do a little bit more tonight, especially on the weights section. I have some weights at home that I bought on the cheap but the quality and range of equipment is astounding it really is. There are a few machines for each individual exercise. I tried the one the instructors call the ''cruncher'' this evening because it works on your abdominals. I was crunched. Big time. Bizarrely I actually want to go on it tomorrow which is weird.

I'm almost tempted to take up "proper" running (I view gyms as a waste of money, unless you intend to socialise in them). I have bad memories of running from school, so I'd have to build up sloooowly.

Running machines and weights are good, because you can set pretty exacting goals for yourself and monitor your progression easily. Andy, you would look weird if you developed a six-pack, but I'm sure we'd deal with it. If you want to go on "the cruncher" again, that's good! Maybe you're getting the whole opiate rush thing?

I'm aiming to go swimming after work on Thursday, but I'm feeling tired, run down, grouchy and basically in need of a week asleep; so I may knock it on the head. Although I did feel good last week after going and will probably feel guilty about not going this week.

The only downside about going during school holidays is that the place is full of the little gits having fun. Can't they see I'm trying to get into a vague semblance of being fit?

We got the impression you were tired and slightly stressed yesterday at the PQ. . . . it must have been a bad day!

Yeah, sorry for not being my usual kinda-cheery self...I think I may have come across as being in a right grump! :( The rolling road block (less than 10mph for the best part of 20 minutes on the M60...joy!) and the bonkers-ness of the prize offer were the last straws I think!

I am not after a sixpack mr_e, I just want to lose the keg and feel a little fitter and stronger.
