Stupid Flat!

Post by BarcelonAl »

This is a grumble aimed at getting rid of some of my current tension (although not all tension, this rant won't help my bank balance, distaste of BMW drivers or any number of other things currently causing my brain to hurt). Feel free to ignore!

I got home last night from a lovely Pizza Express meal to be confronted by a hideous stench coming from my flat. :(

The culprit is my waste disposal unit, which has never worked during the nearly two years I've been at the flat. Mindful of this, I try very hard not to put any solids or fats down the unit. Looks like the last occupant was less careful...as the unit is now leaking into the under sink space...boy does it smell. :barf:

So I spent a considerable amount of time cleaning the cupboard, throwing out some ruined cleaning products and trying to fashion some absorbent cover under the leak...I finally got to bed (after a quick bath as I felt unclean!) at 1am.

Now I'm waiting for a plumber to call to arrange a time to visit...not looking forward to going home!

Stupid flat and stupid previous occupier. What an horrific thing to come home to after such a nice evening for the Lambert birthday. Just think of how happy you will be to leave the flat and go get a lovely new pad in groovy Chorlton!

It was a really rubbish thing to come back to and has put me in a really foul mood today. I suspect that it had started before I got home after work. However the traffic was so horrendous last night that I literally changed and ran!

Moving out is about the only thing that's keeping me going right now...even the plumber won't bloomin' call back!

And if anyone calls round to complain or has left a little note then you'll be visiting me in jail next Christmas!

Flat update...the plumber has just rung to say he's fitted a brand new unit and taken the smell away with him! :D

Looking forward to going home now even more than I was 10 minutes ago!

Yay! What he has not mentioned was it took him 6 hours because 5 and a half of those were spent playing on your Wii console. Oh and he has taken that with him too!

I am sure they will be fine, honestly. . . :D

I've no idea how long he was there or whether he played on the Wii or not, but the flat was clean, tidy and smell free when I got home. :)

He had managed to use an entire roll of kitchen towel (Bounty...the expensive type!), so God alone knows what mess he had to clean up! :(

You would have thought he would have his own cleaning equipment!

He obviously wasn't prepared for the trauma that is (was) Al's waste disposal unit. He'll be having flashbacks for years to come.

It really pisses me off when they use your stuff. when i had my new boiler put in/radiators drained they used all my kitchen roll too. and i swear there's a tea towel i've never seen since!!!

Glad it's sorted now, Al.
