Definitely cool! They'd be awesome in a Science block if they could be taller- (they remind me of a double helix DNA strand & more height would make the coils more distinct).

Yup, I was all like "where do they go!?" Obviously just stairs for stairs' sake. I've heard of some building having double-helix type stairs so people going up and down didn't have to meet, but can't remember where...
