is it like the orange juice and tooth paste situation?
Drinking orange juice immediately after brushing your teeth is horrible- i think its an interaction of flavours (and possibly slightly acidic OJ with slightly alkaline toothpaste).

Yesterday I learnt that you should always, I repeat...ALWAYS check what the mechanic has tinkered about with on your car before setting off on a long journey.

I had to call out the recovery services to the house in Cannock as the steering lock had become jammed on (had been getting worse for a week or so). Mechanic came out in record time, jiggled the key and the wheel and decided that it needed taking to bits to release it. So he took the casing off and in this process must have released the bonnet catch. Finally he got it working and went, so I set off to Manchester.

Somewhere along the M6, near Stafford, while I was doing 70mph I realised that the bonnet seemed to be moving slightly. 2 + 2 = Eeeek! and I duly stuck the hazards on and made directly to the hard shoulder.

ALWAYS check what the mechanic has done...ALWAYS!

Did the bonnet actually come loose? Or just needed closing properly? Either way it is pretty poor. Mechanics and IT specialists seem to cause more damage when they are 'fixing' stuff.

It was 'jiggling' up and down so I reckon it would have worked it's way loose in another 30 or 40 miles had I not spotted it. It could've been messy!

First time I've ever been on the hard-shoulder...not a place where I'd want to spend much time!

Prompted by a VERY random conversation with Mike and Lizzie last night I dug out a text book and found that:
Dogs DO have a baculum, as I thought. (I've no idea what made Lizzie ask about it, but there ya go...)

architecture used to be an Olympic event  !(As did sculpting, town planning etc). It was removed from the program because all artists had to be amateurs, and it got too hard to police.
Lacrosse was too BTW.

Todays trivia questions... name the only current Olympic event where the competitors MUST be amateurs.
Another is, which event is closest in distance to the mile?
Nice and easy.
p

p.s. googleing etc is cheating! Guess if you don't know.

Ooh, trivia! Boxing and 1500m?

I learned this weekend that Dublin is a very pleasant place, and that there are nice views of north Wales on the flight back if you're lucky!

We flew on Friday 13th, so obviously we did not think much of the supersticion. I heard on Radio 6 this morning that one of the DJ's was delayed for 2 hours as they tried to find the baggage of a woman who had freaked out on his flight and refused to fly!

Correct answers in blue below as usual.

Boxing is the amateurs only event.

The mile is 4x400m relay- 1600m=1mile. (Although the 1500m is referred to as the metric mile).

Lesson 40 Today I learned how to Copy Merge a selection in Photoshop! That was a new one. I also manage to fully comprehend the wonder of Layer Masks (when whatever you put behind the mask is either revealed or hidden - very cool and very labour saving).

Lesson 41 I also learned that you should not jump on the technology band wagon as soon as they are released. This image shows the cost of technology when it was released and then its drop off pretty quick in a short few years. It is a good image to be honest. I like it!
