Lesson 42 When the computer says 'incorrect username or password' it is not mistaken. Even if the password holder says it is the right information. Believe me, that was the problem with the iPhone not receiving or sending emails.

Today I learned that I DO have some self control!
I've thus far managed to restrain myself from putting the live wimbledon video feed on. Last year I watched it all day, everyday- well it beats working.

I also learned that my ants have started waste caching! (No one said that the things we learned had to be interesting!)

Yesterday and today I have learnt I am not a QS (quantity surveyor for the non-construction industry).

Our QS has unfortunatly had a stroke. This means I am doing the cost estimates (well fudging them from quotes provided by contractors) and diocese forms. I came home last night with a headache and I lost the power of coherent speech today (unfortunatly whilst talking to the boss - thankfully Brian not any of the others). I've done 7 projects in the last two days and have 3 and an additional cost breakdown to do on Monday. I would normally stay late on friday to finish a bundle of works but decided to cut my losses as I am fairly sure I have no brain cells left (they are all dead, dying or on strike) (except the lazy bugger called alfred who sat my english literature exam for me back in GCSEs!)

As well hopefully we will have a new QS soon...

I get to spend of the rest of the afternoon discovering I'm not a tiler...

Not so much today but over the last three weeks I have learned that Door schedules for university buildings are slightly duller than dishwater.

Try adding left and right buttons in hundreds of pages in Dreamweaver. I think it is a new height in the search for perfected boredom.

Sorry guys I hold the trump card for the employee boredom contest.
I once spent 2hours on poolside watching an EMPTY pool! We had to have someone present for insurance reasons, I nearly went insane. I know for a fact that there are about 20000 tiles on the poolside at my old pool! I counted them in desperation for something to do.

I've learnt to my cost this morning that if you are offered a free ticket to a staff do with one hour to go before the event then it is probably best not to enter into a rather large drinking session with your deputy head and line manager before, during and after the meal because although we may have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, done the old male back slapping, danced to Tiffany in a drunken stupor, etc, I've got wedding preparations to do and I just want to go back to bed, curl up and die.

I passed the entrance exam to my senior school, so presume that's the same standard.

Anyway surely it's whether you could pass it then not after GCSEs / A-Levels / Degree. Al's braincells will have reduced since he was 11 due to alcohol consumption!

I think that alcohol makes you smarter (to a point)... the weaker brain cells die first thus leaving you with the best of the best.
The tests were more logical and how you think rather than what you actually know, so it is more or less a fair test. Much like an IQ test... I could post one of those, but think they're rather pointless.

Grammar school it is. Some of those maths questions took me a while though. Used the old fashioned pen and paper in the end because the old metal arithmetic is a bit slow. Good thing it was not timed!

I learnded that when arseholes put drawing series together in CAD the amount of work needed to sort them out increases a hundred fold and sometimes it might be better to just stay quiet and prod the shit with a stick rather than open your mouth and end up cleaning it up properly.
