Re: Apple iPhone
well, I've had an email from O2. My current contract runs out in a month or so and they're starting to look at my best deal for my renewal.
unfortunately there are no incentives/rewards for customers wanting to remain with o2 wanting an iphone... I can't afford to buy it til payday anyway. I should have one mid december (all going to plan).
this months stuff magazine has an article devoted to getting the most out of your iphone/ipod. (its more of a marketing excerise, but hey ho.)

Re: Apple iPhone
I'm now coming around to the idea that I might want an iPhone. When will it be available on Orange?

Re: Apple iPhone
I think that the O2 deal was running for at least 18 months but I don't know when it will finish. The frustraiting thing is that Orange has phone in France. . . shame you can't get one from there! Mac News Site suggested that the phone would be coming to Orange as soon as October. . . . well proved to be wrong but meh.

I've got to admit that the public transport and address display of dropped pins thingy is actually really quite cool.

Re: Apple iPhone
Nice, 1 down 37 more to go! It has got to be the best phone I have ever owned - as you can all probably tell from the website posting and the constant playing when out and about. Have fun with it! The only downside that I can find is that you know instantly when an email arrives - it can be a bit distracting when you are in work!

Re: Apple iPhone
Ok, so I've had the iphone 36hrs now... and I'm not sure I LIKE it!
If reviewing it I'd have to say its awesome and does everything you could want in a handheld phone/computer/ipod/gps/organiser thingy and I have to give it
. Its a typical apple product, does what you want, how you want it done and is brilliantly designed...
but I'm just not feeling the love towards it. I'm almost tempted to hand it back for a full refund! and return to my phone + ipod combo. I've got 14days to decide, so I'm going to persevere till wednesday (I want to give it a fair crack of the whip) and if my feelings haven't changed then I may revert to antiquated technology. (Which WOULD save me lots of cash, but that DEFINATELY not the issue- this was supposed to be a reward/treat for landing the new job).
The odd thing is I'm not sure why I don't like it, I think it may just not be for me.

Well. I think the saying it, 'You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink!'
Shame you are disappointed but like you say, it can always be returned for a full refund.

Re: Apple iPhone
OK, I've been working with the iphone in my pocket for the past day and a half, I'm coming round to it.
I don't think it is as good as the hype would suggest, but it IS very clever. I think the turning point was when I realised that its just an ipod touch with added phone functions. I've just been listening to tunes all day and it chirps when I have a call, txt or email, its almost like not carrying a phone for me (because I ALWAYS have an ipod on me).
Battery life is OK, better than expected but not as good as I hoped. After a day of HEAVY use (its new so I'm tinkering a lot more than I will once the novelty is gone), I had 3g and wifi off, but email push on and the ipod was playing from 830-1800 and I made several calls (total 45mins) and sent a few txt n email. the battery had 20-35% left. I unplugged it at 0700 and plugged it back in at 2330ish, so it'll cope with a full day- probably not two tho.
more developments to follow...
mike, that block runner game IS good.

Re: Apple iPhone
Cube Runner is ace. I have not managed to get above my pb of 178. It is very difficult when the blocks turn green. In fact I think I have managed to get beyond the three diamonds about twice in the whole time I have owned it!

Re: Apple iPhone
more effort required there mike. I'm on 315 and have only played it twice! Great game tho. Missile command is brilliant too.
I'm finding new apps interesting some could be handy... There's a train times one updated live. Very useful when bambi is coming here.

Re: Apple iPhone
Has anyone noticed the annoying glitch in the app store where you have the main screen showing 150 reviewers with an average 4.5 star rating and then on the app page it has 124 reviews with 4 star rating. . . very odd.
