Re: Apple iPhone

Mobile Today has released a story about how the iPhone 3G may soon be available on T-Mobile and Orange. O2 are reportedly going to be able to retain their exclusivity on the 3GS model, however, the new competition for the 3G is very welcome news as it may reduce handset and tarriff prices. O2 are supposedly furious. . . oh well. Never mind.

The article also says that Apple has secured better deals with two component manufacturer's but I don't actually know what this has to do with exclusivity agreements.

johnriley1uk will be pleased.

Old news really. That was patched about 2 weeks ago! The risk was rather minimal because the hacker would need to know your number and figure out it was an iPhone at the same time. The more exciting news is that O2 are supposed to be coming to the end of their exclusitivity agreement in October.

Fair enough, news travel slowly to Tyldesley! Agreed, I fancy one of these and when it comes to Orange I'll look at it with serious intent.

The rumour is that the 3GS will still be exclusive but I am still very happy with my 3G phone so it will not need replacing for another year yet.

A small app house keeping tip. Once you get to a larger number of apps you tend to find it a bit strange having 8+ pages listed on the home screen. If you want to get rid of some of the icons but not delete the app totally you can select which apps you sync with the phone. This option is found under the Applications menu on your iphone.

Using this method I have now trimmed the number of pages from 8 to 6! Yay. :-D

I would be cheeky and link the recent articles about the exploding / melting iPhone batteries, but it's not like it happens only to iPhones.

The iPhones are supposedly melting because the owners are cracking the screens! It would be an interesting you tube video though!

Microsoft awards giving praise to Microsoft Mobile apps. Top voted for prize goes to an app released only on the iPhone. Oh dear. The organiser is heard wispering 'Oh this is awkward' into the mike before announcing the winner.
