This is coming from the bloke who turned round and said in college that his ambition was to be ''one of those old men who sits on the front of buses stinking of urine and shouting random abuse at annoying school kids''. I have to say Fez, if I lost Rowenna, me and you would probably end up like those two blokes from Bottom.

Single people are frowned upon and pitied because it's society's way of making us conform and fulfill our biological function, namely having children. Sex and death, primary motivating factors in a lot of behaviours.

Fez, I would also volunteer to share your life with you, but I suspect you also want sex. In which case, I'll pass.

On the plus side, I've learnt to quietly enjoy my friends' company more since being single again. Just remind me not to date any of them.

Anyways, back on topic, there's so many powers, why must we only choose one? Maybe I could have a special decision-making super-power?

I did not think that we were! Do you feel that single people are pitied by couples? Obviously you do!

I don't think I pity my single friends, they seem to be quite happy and content for the most part.

Think on the flip side of the coin you could spend a long time with someone and they end up divorcing you as part of a mid life crisis!

lol, a super power that allows you to see the outcome of every decision up to your death in a minor instant! It would be unfortunate if you were just about the be run over by a previously mentioned bus and all decisions were very short paths.

I wonder if it would not be somewhat arrogant for anyone to pity another person for simply not being in the same category as themselves?

Perhaps if the single person desperately wanted to be married and expressed this, we could empathise, but pity does seem rather callous.

Maybe it stems from the fact that peoples best intentions are open for massive misinterpretation?

I think this is how it is commonly protrayed, partiularly in the media.

Quite true, and empathy is what I would expect from my lovely group of friends, but some people, maybe moreso from older generations where early marriage was the norm, do seem to take the pity route. Like "omg what's wrong with them, why are they so defective they haven't married yet!?"

One of my ''superhero powers'' would be the ability to tamper with time, travel forwards, backwards, stop time, etc. I don't want to be a timelord or anything like that, I just think it would be interesting.

I would like to stop time because there something always happens to me during the course of the day when I think to myself and say things like ''I wish I had planned this earlier''. I would like to go back in time to observe certain historical events. I don't know whether or not I would like to go forward. I sometimes would but I think that it would determine my future actions too much.

One of you superhero powers? That seems to imply that you have more than one! I think this would put you in the realm of a super villian - always wanting more

come on, the bad guys are always the coolest - the only reasons they never win is because the writers of comic books can't take a bit of reality and admit evil rules the world anyway.

I agree with Fez but only in certain cases.

If I had to be a villain then I would love to be someone like Doc Oc. To have his abilities would just be too cool. I like the Green Goblin but I would never wear green. I would love to be Bullseye but only the film version, the comic version is extremely dodgy.

For me, some of the ''heroes'' are a bit naff. I never really got into the Fantastic Four. Crap individuals if you ask me. The Avengers were also a bit crap (apart from Captain America). Some of the villains are rubbish as well but that is because they have to be defeated. For me a hero should be all-conquering and majestic, some of them just aren't.

I would like the power to do what Mr. Benn did in the cartoon - go into a costume shop, walk into the changing room and change into that person. However, I would like to do it with a twist. It would be excellent to put on the outfit of something out of my childhood, film, book, etc - I could be Doctor Who or Yoda for a day. Now that would be good. :D
