You could always try to get him with the "knowledge is only gained through experience" line, Fez.

Knowledge is gained through experience.

Understanding is gained through experience?

Just checked for you Mike: I remembered the quote correctly, but it's actually related to Sufism. I think it's big on the direct experience rather than book learning thing, and I never realised how closely it was related to Muslim culture. It still holds true for a lot of physical experiences, such as sky-diving, for instance: you must experience it to gain true knowledge of it.
Anyway, I was most impressed with the first episode of Doctor Who, it was a delight to watch. The second was okay, but I'm never too sure about the period horror ones they do. Still good fun, though.

I personally wouldn't want to know everything about the universe, life has its own mysteries and I feel sure that the good Doctor would want to leave some of these as mysteries.mr_e wrote:You could always try to get him with the "knowledge is only gained through experience" line, Fez.
Is it a calling from the doctor? I don't know. It could be like the ''Bad Wolf'' messages from the last series? Now that would be very interesting indeed.johnriley1uk wrote:I stopped at Costa Lot, sorry, Costa Coffee on Friday and, mysteriously, the bottom of my receipt stated "Fantastic Dr Who".
Does anyone have an explanation for this strange phenomenon?
Or, more feasably, maybe you have been chosen to replace that damn awful character Mickey?
I enjoyed the second episode a great deal more than the first. I liked the action and the way that the writers had put in a bit more comedy - Rose trying to get Queen Vic to say ''one is not amused'' had my laughing out loud at times. The line about Princess Anne at the end was just T.V. gold in my opinion.mr_e wrote:The second was okay, but I'm never too sure about the period horror ones they do. Still good fun, though.
The werewolf was a bit dodgy but I must admit that the special effects in this series are much better than I anticipated. Tennant was much better in this one as well - he was able to show more emotion in the role which was pleasing. I would say that he is beginning to come into his own but that might be a bit premature.

I have not seen episode 2 yet because I forgot to set the video before I went out. Doh! I suppose I will have to try and catch BBC3 tonight.

Andy reminded me, Mickey is still absolutely awful. Impressive given that he's only been on screen for ten seconds so far.

The worst thing is, you know what is going to happen sooner or later ..... yep, an episode (or god forbid, episodes) set in their London high-rise flat pad. Cue dodgy London accents, a bit of on-screen snogging and Harriet Jones PM waltzing about doing nothing. I just know it will happen because they would not have got the actors back for this series for a ten second slot. Unless, (please, please, please, please, pretty please with cherries on top), they filmed them whilst they were doing the Christmas special. But that is wishful thinking of the highest order. Doesn't stop me wishing though.mr_e wrote:Andy reminded me, Mickey is still absolutely awful. Impressive given that he's only been on screen for ten seconds so far.
Does anyone else expect the Doctor and Rose to share a bit of a snog during this series? They have been putting an awful lot of on-screen chemistry in the first two episodes.
Mike, if you have missed it, I have videod it. I will lend it to you if you need it providing I can have it back before the next episode, I'm videoing all of them - cheaper than DVD buying!

I watched last weeks episode - the School. The episode was really good, it was fun to see K9 and Sarah Jane Smith again, it is amazing that her voice really has not changed since she was filming with John Pertwee.
Who else was really disapointed to hear that Mickey is going to be travelling with them from now on. I really dislike that character. I hope that lots of really weird and silly things happen to him!
