Super Size Me was a work of brilliant satire and it also scared me a bit. i avoid McDonalds if at all possible, not for major culinary reason (i eat other unhealthy crap) but for more ethical reasons. I haven't bought Nestle for a good 5 or 6 years i think. The documentary was most worrying when it showed the food decomposing in airtight bell jars. if you've seen it, i'm sure you were horrified. they got some normal burgers and chips from a cafe and they were moulding up within a week. the scariest things was mcD fries - they were in the jar for over 6 weeks and nothing...absolutely nothing...changed. now what happens when you eat that?

Surely that must be some kind of scientific breakthrough: organic matter that doesn't decompose? The fries are still evil, though, as they aren't even vegetarian friendly based on what Liz has told me...cooked in animal fat, or were until recently.

The burger content is gross - I believe there can be as something as little as 10% meat in each burger.

Coke is another scary one. After going on holiday with the schoolchildren I've stopped drinking as much as I did do - quite dramatically cut down - because I saw what it did to their behaviour. Also, did you know that the NYPD take a gallon of Coke with them in their cars wherever they go because it is the most effective and cheapest cleaner of blood from pavements that there is. It is so corrosive that it just takes dried blood of the pavement without any scrubbing. Imagine what that does to your stomach!

Stomachs are full of acid anyway, they'll be fine. McD's are now putting their "100% beef" signs everywhere now. Given how lax the labelling standards are, I suspect other things apart from the actual meat are still classed as "beef". I don't really want to be enlightened on that one.

You are missing the obvious one there.

The beef contained in these burgers is 100% beef. However there are other things in this burger and therfore beef only constitutes 10% of the total volume. But the slogan is correct it is 100% beef, no lamb, cat or chicken in there. . . .
