Black and white. Silent. German.

Sue hated it. I thought the idea was very good for its day. Total over-acting and some hysterical mannerisms, but some good shots as well.

Fritz Lang's classic film for me is incredibly repetitive. Did you get the edition that was in the Times last Saturday? Which version do you have - the original 153 minutes like me? If so, lucky you!

I personally have my own copy - I had to do an essay for SF on 'The Concept of the City' looking at Arthur Clarke's City and The Stars, H. G. Well's Time Machine, Simak's City and Metropolis.

I thought the film was very good for its actual concept but not a masterpiece. I also quite sadly own an action figure of the woman - Maria, I think.

Overall, because of its concept and the fact that it was a ground-breaking film
