Guide To Horror: shawn of the dead

Post by Fez »

i'm sure most of us have already seen this and will therefore know what an inspired piece of film it is, so this is just for the benefitt of those unlucky few still living in ignorance of the best comedy-horror film to come out of britain since...er...

anyway, from the creators of the much loved series spaced comes this ode to the zombie flick with suitable amounts of blood and guts without making it too unpleasant for the squimish, plus a bit of a romance thing going on to keep the girls happy, but more importantly if you have it on dvd, enough extras to keep you occupied from now until the end of time.

Would agree with that one, pure hilarity. Lets go to the Winchester for a pint?

Rah! 5S - the scene at the start where he goes to the shop for the second time in the movie, and doesn't notice the zombies, blood etc, is particularly grate. And I like all the little references to things like Time Splitters, Resident Evil and 28 Days Later.

That is a genius scene especially when he slips in what we must assume is human blood! :D

no, the first zombie attack in the back garden when shawn's flat mate (nick frost) tries to take a picture while shawn is being strangled. oh, and the bit when that lp splinters and hits that zombie in the face.

Finally saw this last night, and it's a quality film with some absolute gems in there. The LP scene made me chuckle. Definitely four or five star, can't decide.

There ya go! I can't say it's a total classic, but it's damn good*.

I am currently watching this with my Y7 Set 3 and they love it. It's the sort of film where your watching it and they go ''watch this sir, watch this, awwwww, you gotta watch this'' ...... even though I am

Anyhow, it is a damn good film that I am very much enjoying - maybe a little too much swearing for my liking.

4S

Like mr_e, mine is subject to change.

After watching it through I have decided that it shall get 5S because the ending is quality!

It appears it was rated R in the US, but only 15 over here...I still think that leaves an age gap, but maybe parental permission was obtained?

It is a 15.

Here is the daft rule regarding videos in schools. Technically, if your school has a licence (which ours does) you can show them any clip you want so long as it can be proved that it is educational and it won't shock them. And I mean ''any clip''!!!!!!!!!! And nothing shocks them. They have seen it all before :!:

You can't though show them the whole film in its entireity because that would be breaking the law. All I did was skip the ''first chapter'' and get into the good stuff. How is it educational? They wrote a review on it afterwards. 8)

of course not...... you are talking about set 3, that is pre-pre-historic / jurassic period of English. Nice group though, I liked them a lot - sort of group you could have a laugh with and then tell them to get on with their work and they would do.
