cinematically perfect - i didn't say that, quentin taratino did.
the good, the bad and the ugly
the good, the bad and the ugly
the classic western starring clint eastwood, lee van cleef and eli wallack [the three men of the title], a legendary score by ennio morricore and directed by the peerless sergio leone, this is a landmark of the genre if not of film in general. clocking up at almost three hours it is a monumental piece of story telling which unfolds more like a novel with its attention to detail, it's difficult to take everything in on first viewing but is well worth the effort if you enjoy a plot with a bit of fibre. the landscape visuals are glorious and the fight scenes are realistically violent without being grutuitous, plus unlike the bang, bang kill, kill shit-fests we get these days the story holds everything together making it a coherent and engaging depiction of life on the fringes of civilisation.

Saw this today. Very impressed and loved the shots. Sorta funny at the end though when they are all in a circle, I have seen so many humorous takes on that scene without realising it.
I would say that this film was excellent for keeping you interested and twisted and turned faster than a snake.
