That changed the world. I was amazed that Mario Kart was only 48th!

It'll be interesting to see what finishes in the Top 10. I reckon Sim City will make it, along with Sensi Soccer and Gran Turismo.

I was shocked by Mario Kart's low position as well, but I suppose a lot of racing games existed before it. A lot of what Mario Kart did was refine and improve existing elements.

I think that Sensi Soccer and Sim City have got to make it because they were classics. I was surprised that MarioKart was only at 48 and I just hope that they don't just simply go for basically brand new updated versions like Gotham Racing for the top ten. I think that Grand Theft Auto will be rated quite highly and Sonic is likely to be up there. I was pleased to see Championship Manager get a mention because they are right, before that game football management simulations were complete crap.

I never played MarioKart, so it can't be that good. Heh. Ah, happy memories of Sensible Soccer. Sim City absolutely has to be in there, along with Elite I should think. I am very curious as to what is to come.

If it was ''The Top Fifty Most Influential Games'' you would have to include some spectrum games in there - classics such as 'Dizzy on the Rapids' and 'Daley Thompson's Olympics' should be savoured.

I can still picture the scene that me and my friend Peter, from High school that I have long lost contact with, were playing Daley Thompson's Olympics doing the rowing session. Anyway, you had to waggle the joystick from side to side ....... you get the picture.... his mum walked in and went ''what the fuck is going on in here you little perverts''...... oh happy innocent days of gameplaying on a knackered old console! That for me should be in there because of the amount of fun that could be had from it and the competition was about who was the best gameplayer, not who had first pick of the better characters.

I actually bought a copy of sensible soccer on ebay for ?2, I think, may have been ?3, if you want a copy mr_e. It is the updated version, well one and a half seasons ago, contains all the leagues from around the world, loads of custom teams, etc - it is actually a much better game than previous because they all have three attributes now and you do need them to progress up the leagues with a crap team. An example of this is buying a central attacking midfield player with CSP - Control, Speed, Power so that he can dribble, run past people and shoot with great accuracy. Whereas you would buy a defensive player with PST so that the have the Speed, the Power for long-range passing and the Tackling skills of a defender. All this and you get the chance to simulate the result as well with your team selection actually having an effect on the score! Overall, it is much better gameplaying than the versions that we probably played.

I forgot they'd made an updated version. Cool. I would borrow it, but I'm not installing any games on my computer yet, as they tend to take up too much of my time.

I remember Treasure Island Dizzy, if it's the one with the puzzles and the weird egg you controlled. Bizarreness.

Dizzy was a great game. I remember the joy when I managed to complete one of them. My all time favourite was Dizzy on the NES. Combining graphics and game play. Quality! :D

i had treasure island dizzy for the commador 64 - could never figure it out and never got very far. i spent most of my time playing panic 64; you had to get a little guy with bombs up a series of platforms to the exit before he was trapped and eaten by what looked like giant hamburgers.

Zelda : Occarina of Time
This game has to be in there because it was absolutely fan-chuffing-tastic. It was so good it was untrue. The updated version for the GameCube is good as well but somewhat lacks the amazing strides the first one took.

Pacman should be in there for influentialism but probably won't be.

The original Zelda also rocked. I always wanted a SNES but never managed to get to the point of owning one. The Zelda on the Wii going to be one of my first purchases that is for sure.

PACMAN rocked thought they seemed to bring out a hell of a lot of alterations which looked no different. Such as MRS PACMAN where the PAC was actually pink . .. . .

One of the greatest four player games ever is Super Bomberman. Absolute classic fun.

Supper Bomberman looks well cool: I've played a clone of it on the Amiga or something, and it rocks. Multiplayer heaven. Is it coming back out on the Wii, or was it out on the Gamecube, as I think the Wii has backwards compatability with that system?

I think super bomberman was on the Gamecube, and will either make a resurface on the wii or is back compatible. I just need the basic unit to find out! The game I am really wanting for multiplayer heaven on Wii is Super Monkey Ball.

For me, multiplayer heaven is described as going out with your mates, getting slightly on the wrong side of tipsy and then coming back home to play ''SuperMario Party'' (any version) and ''James Bond Goldeneye''

Doom is a game that should be included in this list. Unfortunately I feel they will include Quake - they shouldn't.

'Alien Vs Predator' should be in for on-line fun.

I can't imagine to think how cool Zelda on the Wii would be.

tetrus - totally addictive, mega fun to play and so simple. surely made the gameboy - another piece of genius - into the massive success it was.
