How Psychic are you?
Andy, the Russian Roulette show involved some guy placing the "bullet" (rumoured they were blanks) in the gun for him, which is why he screened them first to make sure he could predict where the guy would put it. If you want to know one of the techniques he uses, look up neurolinguistic programming. He essentially controls reactions by controlling environmental input.
Mike, well done, very psychic
a classy repost Mr Riley senior :D
Mr e, I stand corrected. Still, in my view at least, the show was crap.
I've had a look at that neurolinguistic programming and it makes sense. The presuppositions bit that I found certainly makes a great deal of sense. But for me, Derrn isn't pyschic or that impressive.

On the subject of Darren Brown, did anyone see the heist show C4 yesterday?
I only caught the end of the show but it was really wierd, he managed to convince (through environmental manipulation - ie music, colour etc) to encourage them to rob a security man who was taking some money boxes to his van. It is funny that all the shows make sure that they vet the contenstants to get the most 'sugestable' people as their 'contestants' or 'victims'.
This has been a bit of a controversial thread aint it!

We had Rob's mum dad and sister and my mum and dad up just after Christmas for a sort of second Christmas, and ended up playing Cranium then charades. We had a very scary 30 minutes or so where four times someone managed to guess the charade when all they had was what type of thing it was and how many words it was! They weren't related to any previous charades, they hadn't been on telly or at the movies recently, and they weren't lying around the front room. Scariest of all was that the last charade it happened on was The Shining.
Rob and I are almost always thinking the same thing, and this is because we think the same way and are together alot, but sometimes we just say things or do things alike which are weird.
Another weird one was with my mum. When I was about 15 or 16, we had just played Lexicon, which is like a card game with a letter on each card. I decided to test mum's psychic abilities (jokingly) and asked her which letter was on the top card on the face-down pile. She guessed wrong, but I went on to the next one and it was the letter she had just guessed. I thought that was a bit odd, but asked her for her guess for this one. It was wrong (unsurprisingly as she had just said the correct letter!) so I went on to the next one. Which was the letter she had said for the previous one. I told her at that point, and we kept going for 5 cards with her guessing the letter on the next card, which she couldn't possibly see and I hadn't seen myself, each time. Then I got scared and stopped - partly because it was freaking me out, and partly because I didn't want to end on one that didn't work!
I think there is definitely *something* to psychic ability.
