I went to see this film last night, it was controversial in its story as they were producing a play called "Spring Time for Hitler" but it was just sooooo wrong it was funny as.
The actors were fantastic and I was wetting myself with the comic genius. A deffo:
Amazing - I hope you all enjoyed it too!
PS This was the 2006th post on the website - made in the year 2006! Yay.
Yesssssssssssssss that film was a complete 'stroke... ...of genius'
A thoroughly enjoyable musical feast and all "in the best possible taste?!" Mel Brooks is a genius and Will Ferrell is crazily magnificent
Damn my evil (and, incidentally, absolutely pointless, as I took about three calls) work schedule. I'll put it on the "watch on DVD" list, seeing as it's had two five-star reviews. Below Dodgeball, though.
Fez wrote:how does it compare to the original film with gene wilder? i've got it on tape somewhere...
I don't know! If you want to bring the tape around sometime I will watch it with the same crowd, on a Friday Night at 8:10pm, and we shall give our judgement.
Finally got to watch this last night as LoveFilm decided that it was the first film they'd send to me, and I absolutely loved it.
Right from the off it was funny, deliciously silly and just simply superb.
My favourite scene is when they are on the rooftop meeting Will Ferrell's character for the first time. The bit where they are taking the Siegfried Oath almost had me in tears! :D
I give it a resounding
Nothing says "romance" like a kidnapped injured woman!
We have now seen the stage play (with a very famous Peter Kay in a dress) the casting was great, Leo Bloom and Max were great and Ula. WOWee! Though I still prefer the Uma Therman version. Ahem, anyway on to the production. It was fantastic.
