National Treasure

Post by Mike »

A film about a historian turned treasure hunter with the expected mix of masons, mystery and a great treasure. This is no indianna jones but at the end of the day is an entertaining story with some good action scenes. Though I think the evil dudes really need to try using a gun before blasting at the goodies.

Watching the DaVinci Code reminded me of this. From the film trailer I was desperate to see it and left the cinema with mixed emotions - I enjoyed the film but ended up being slightly disappointed. I still don't know why I was disappointed but I was - something was missing.

It could possibly merit one more but I'll stick at 3

I don't think it quite has the humour of the Indiana Jones movies, and of course lacks anyone comparable to Harrison Ford. Probably a watch once and forget sort of movie, it just seemed a bit too smart and calculating for its own good. And once again, the bad guys are played by British people...
