Fiction over Reality - The Power of AD&D

Post by johnriley1uk »

Wednesday night's play saw the player characters climbing steadily through the mountains. In the distance the mournful sound of a Horn of Fog sounded aceoss the peaks. Sure enough, in rolled the fog, thick and heavy and wrapping the party in tendrils of evil....

And here in the "Real World" look at the effects - Heathrow fog bound, flights cancelled, the country grinding to a halt,,,,

We'd better hope whoever is blowing that horn stops soon!

We will have to go and make sure we sort it out asap then! I did not realise that someone had blown a horn of fogging. . . . when I find them I will make sure they are not behaving so irresponsibly in future!

Maybe they are going to be friendly. . . . if they start to eat the druid then they are definitely not friendly. :D

I presume this means that Sir John Milton will start off by saying, "Nice doggy...." after which the beast's slavering jaws may or may not be an issue!

i'm going to start the fight by plunging the nearest dagger into simon pendergast's eye, thus distracting the wolves with the smell of blood while i make my escape.

Simon would probably shrug and think very hard about what the next action should be. . . . He is a very, very, very, very laid back magicuser.

I agree. But then his decision would probably be to send a lightning bolt through the centre of the party in an attempt to hit as many of the wolves as he can at once.

We will find out this evening if you are correct or not! I sort of suspect that is exactly what is going to happen.

Well last night was rather fun, I loved the fact that half the party ended up in a crevasse with trolls, burning troll, bridges and dragons raining down on their heads. I think that the stripping the Blue Dragon of all its flesh was a bit gross but there we go. I am surprised that Simon was not tempted to try and take a part of the dragon to aid the casting of lighting bolts. . . . I think we need to rename him Simon 'The Lightning Mage' Pendegast. Especially after the dog incident!

I think we need to remember how to spell my name, or it's barbecue time! Ahem...yeah, I may still borrow some item to see what I can do with it. And I still need to roll up that damn spell book properly to see what's actually in it.

I was impressed by our level increases this week. Sir John is now nearly as powerful as the day he confronted 100 wraiths. Only 5 levels to go before he is fully restored. I hope the lanthorn is not the heart of the TARDIS though, I really would like to become a time travelling Cavalier!
